Preparing parents who have requested the sacrament of baptism for their child has been a gift in our lives and in our spiritual growth. A home visit is only the first knock on a couple's door. As a community of believers, we recognize this as an opportunity to welcome many young parents who, for a large part, are "latent" Catholics.
 

The sanctifying grace of baptism offered by God in becoming his children is very important to my husband Harry and me. Baptism for my children Anthony, Sarah, Julie, Stephen and Joanna was truly an extended family affair.

 

Since October 2006, St. Edmund's parish in Beaconsfield has included the celebration of baptism for young children as part of the Sunday Eucharist.



 

With the implementation of Proposing Jesus Christ Today as the way to freedom and responsibility, and the connection it makes to faith education for all generations, baptism is being looked at in a new light today.
